How far did i run

Have you ever asked yourself: How fast do I actually run? With a very simple formula, you can calculate directly which distance, running speed, or pace per kilometer you need for your daily training runs.

For example, if you run 10km in 60 minutes it is relatively simple mental arithmetic: The time per kilometer is then of course 6min / km and your pace is 10km / h.

But if you want to quickly calculate with what kind of average kilometer and what speed you ran your marathon best time in 03:55:23, then that is not so easy in your head.

We have a cool online running calculator for you. In the example, you simply enter 42.195 km and running time (h: min: sec) 03:55:23 in the field running distance and you will get your time per kilometer and your speed in km / h as the result.

This is how the running calculator works: How far did I run

Running speed and number of kilometers

On a foggy October 13, 2019, Eliud Kipchoge laced his running shoes. He was on a mission. As the first person, he had planned to run a marathon, 42.195 kilometers, in under 2 hours. To do that he had to run a constant pace of 2: 51min / km or in other words run at an incredible running speed of 21.05km / h. The pace was the key and nothing was left to chance. A track car drove in front of the runners at the desired speed and projected a laser beam onto the track, which the pacemakers could use for orientation. 7 pacemakers, who took turns every 5 kilometers, accompanied Kipchoge over the entire distance: Their task: to make sure that he brings a constant pace on the track. And Kipchoge delivered mileage like clockwork.

Achievements: How far did I run

He ran the kilometers between kilometers 30 and 40 in 2: 50min / km. Over the entire route, the lap splits fluctuated only minimally between 02: 48-02: 52 min / km. And apparently, he wasn’t at the limit yet, Kipchoge hit another incredible 2: 42min / km on the last kilometer. He made history and finished in a time of 01: 59: 40.2 hours. A milestone. A new dimension of running perfection. Anyone who has ever run a marathon can only bow down to this brilliant running and, above all, mental achievement.
